Intermittent Fasting is not a diet. It’s simply an eating schedule.
Your body is always in one of two states: fed or fasted. In the fed state (any time your body is digesting food), your body’s insulin levels make it difficult to burn fat. However, in the fasted state (8-12 hours after your body finishes digesting), your insulin levels are lower and your body is better able to reach into fat stores for energy. Intermittent fasting gives our bodies the opportunity to reach that optimal fasted state so that they become fat-burning machines.
That’s why so many people are using Intermittent Fasting as an effective strategy to burn fat and lose weight.

Intermittent Fasting encourages the body to burn fat while maintaining lean muscle mass. During a fast, insulin levels drop while levels of human growth hormone and norepinephrine rise. At the same time, cells switch from using glucose as the primary fuel source to using fat. This combination of changes can aid fat loss, as well as a host of other benefits.
Here’s how it works: After you eat, your body works hard to digest your meal. As you break down your meal in your digestive tract, nutrients are released into your bloodstream. That means your body often has excess fuel, and that excess gets stored as fat.
When you fast, your body has to rely on its energy stores by burning fat and glycogen. So, through Intermittent Fasting, cells switch from using glucose as the primary fuel source to using fat, training your body to burn fat instead of storing it.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, research shows that fasting can help lower blood pressure, reduce cholesterol and control diabetes. Other research shows that Intermittent Fasting can lower cholesterol, slow the progression of Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases and reduce cancer risk — all in addition to helping people shed unwanted fat and lose weight.

The word “macro” is short for macronutrient. Macros consist of:
-Carbohydrates
-Proteins
-Fats
Macros are important because they’re the basic building blocks of our food. They’re the nutrients our body needs in large quantities. They're our fuel! But to fuel our bodies the best way possible, we need to consume our macros in the correct proportions.
After I personally set your macros specific to your body, activity and health history we will get to tracking! We track our macros with the FASTer Way app and keep it simple to use and makes tracking your food easy and straightforward. Simply add your food in every day and you’ll receive a breakdown of your macronutrients AND your main micronutrients. This is a helpful tool to stay on track with your goals and start making real progress.

Carb cycling is not riding a bike and eating bananas! It is actually much simpler than that.
Carbohydrate (shortened to “carb”) cycling is an intentional variation of carbohydrate consumption. Carbohydrates and fat are the body’s two primary energy sources and both play a variety of important roles in metabolism. We simply do some low carb days each week, and then the rest of the week, we replenish our body with healthy complex carbs. Carb cycling is great for those that have loved keto, but can’t keep it up forever.
One of the biggest advantages seen from cycling carbohydrates is the development of metabolic flexibility. Metabolic flexibility refers to the body’s capacity to match fuel oxidation to fuel availability, or switch between utilizing stored carbohydrates and fat for energy. The alternative, metabolic inflexibility, is associated with several pathological conditions including high blood sugar and insulin resistance, high blood pressure, abnormal blood lipids, excess fat around the midsection, and cancer. Emphasis is strategically placed on carbohydrates some days and fats on other days in the FASTer Way weekly schedule to reap different benefits in these alternative sources as well as improve overall metabolic flexibility.
As impressive as low carbohydrate diets can be in certain situations, long term use may have some undesirable side effects for active, normal weight individuals. Carbohydrate cycling allows FASTer Way clients to reap both the benefits of low carbohydrate as well as moderate to high carbohydrate eating. By cycling carbohydrates high and low throughout the week, FASTer Way clients effectively utilize stored body fat and glycogen (stored carbohydrates) for fuel at different times.

No, you do not. It is simply there for reference and ideas. We offer weekly meal guides with both regular and vegan options, so if you’re unsure where to start, it’s a great resource. The recipes are quick, delicious and intentional, you do not have to follow it to a ‘T’ to get results.

Yes, and I encourage that!! I have no time or mental capacity to cook two separate meals. My entire family follows dairy and gluten free, and I use subs when needed. This is what we eat a lot of in my family: spaghetti, tacos, burrito bowls, sheet pan meals, pot roasts, soups, chicken/steak/salmon + veggies, burgers, burger bowls, beef & rice, chicken fried rice, breakfast for dinner, fajitas, salads + protein, instant pot meals, air fryer meals, literally any and everything!

No, you do not. Nutrition is KING, and you WILL see results with nutrition alone. I will say, you will see more body composition changes if you are doing the FASTer Way workouts though. I am here to meet you where you are at and I do encourage focusing on nutrition first, and we can add in exercise later. Don’t bite off more than you can chew.

No. All of the workouts can be done at home or the gym. Modifications for all ages and stages as well. I would recommend starting out with anywhere from 8-15 lb dumbbells.

Yes!! I have coached them both! A healthy baby comes from a healthy mama, never a better time! We will set your macros specific to your season, decrease some fasting hours and increase your carbs for your low carb day. We work really closely to monitor growth and milk supply.

I will work closely with you to help you reach your personal goals, whatever they are. Lots of folks come to me just wanting to learn and sharpen their nutrition.
